SEO is a competitive field to work in. And without Scalenut, you will get left behind.
How else can one person create 30 perfectly optimized unique articles in one month?
I couldn’t, and hats off to you if you can, but I doubt the quality will stay high. With Scalenut, you will reduce your content creation time by 75% and become a content machine.
The content gets written in your tone of voice, and the only changes I made were adding personal anecdotes and a little Kieran charm.
Sure, once upon a time, AI writing tools would write about as well as a 4-year-old. But now I can’t tell it apart. I’ll change an article produced by Scalenut and quickly forget which sections I wrote and which it wrote.
If you want to crush the competition and dominate the SERPs, I can’t recommend Scalenut enough.

Pros of Scalenut
- Superior writing quality
- You can give it samples so it can accurately replicate your desired tone
- Fast SEO-optimised content production at scale
- Can optimize older content using their SEO tools
- Keyword planner, including keyword clusters for advanced SEO planning
Cons
- Chrome extension isn’t anything to write home about
- Pricier than other AI writers (but also higher quality)
- There are too many tools and features for smaller creators who only need a few articles a month – like sending in an army to win a duel
- Only supports English currently
Who is Scalenut best for
Scalenut is best for SEOs looking to maximize their content production. Whether you’re an individual with niche sites like I am or you’re an SEO agency helping out clients. Even in-house teams will benefit from Scalenut if they need lots of written content produced at scale.
Who will love it
- Niche site owners
- Agencies
- In-house teams with significant content needs
Who doesn’t need it
- Individuals whose writing is their brand. If your business is writing on Twitter or Medium, and people want to hear from you, then Scalenut isn’t for you
- People who don’t produce a lot of content. If you only write one post a week, you probably don’t need the full capability Scalenut offers

What is Scalenut anyway?
Scalenut is a one-stop-shop AI-powered SEO writing tool that will see you through keyword selection, research, and content production. Plus, you get full access to their copywriting tool, which can create more specific short-form content like product descriptions.
You optimize SEO content by adding NLP keywords, which are the words that Google uses to decide what an article is about. It’s similar to Clearscope and Surfer if you’re familiar with either of those programs. The difference is I found Scalenut’s writing capabilities far superior to Surfers.
In their own words:
“The #1 unified platform for organic growth.
The only AI-SEO platform with everything you need to plan, research, create, optimize, and publish content, all in one place.”
You’ll save money if you opt for Scalenut because previously, you would have used Ahrefs for keyword research, hired a writer to produce the article, and then used Surfer to optimize the post for search engines. Scalenut does all of that and more.
How it works – the programming inside
Most AI writers use some combination of GPT-3, 3.5, or GPT-4. So I looked into it, and honestly, I couldn’t find much about what powers Scalenut. I was highly impressed with their writing, so it must be something powerful.
I went on to a live chat to ask. I imagined Scalenut would be quite cagey about giving away “secrets” behind the scenes, and I was right. I got this response:

“At this time, we are using a mix of models and selecting the best models for each task based on the quality of their outputs.”
I asked what models, and they said they couldn’t tell me. Fair enough. All I could find was a few blog posts from the Scaleut blog, which mention the limitations of GPT-3 and how they’re tackling that. It could be different now; honestly, I’m not that fussed. Its content is wonderful and reads excellent, so I’m happy.
Scalenut Tools and Features
Article writer/Cruise mode
Let’s start with the most essential tool—the article writer. I’ll take you through each step, starting with my favorite feature – the Tone of voice selector.

[[tone of voice]]
With this, you can copy in a URL or a passage of text, and it will analyze it for your tone of voice. It then uses that tone of voice to generate the article!
This tone stops your article from reading like the same Chat-GPT articles that people fire onto their websites. And it means that if you add to the piece after it’s generated, your tone will match the content so that it won’t seem out of place. Awesome.
Other than that, it’s a 5 step process.
1. Set tone and Context
Give your article context so it knows precisely what the article is about. Then, set your tone. As I said above, you can pre-save tones of voice created so you can switch out “who” is writing.
2. Set your title

Next up, you need the title of your article. It generates a whole bunch of suggestions, and you fill in the blanks.
3. Build the outline

Here’s where the magic starts to happen. Scalenut will come up with an outline for you based on the competitors that are already ranking. This competitor analysis is the magic key for ranking an SEO article. I’d still recommend tweaking it rather than just steaming ahead with its first suggestion, but again, the grunt work gets done for you. Or, of course, you can add your outline
4. Writing Prompts

Next up, it generates the prompts for each subheading. The bulk of the article comes from these prompts, so you must ensure its input information is correct. Hence, I tell people not to use AI to write about topics they don’t know about.
5. Generate Content

Last but not least, you get to generate your article. You can get it to rewrite each paragraph just now if you’re not happy with it. Or, you can export it to the editor and start playing around.
I’d recommend you read your article at this stage and change any paragraphs that stand out from the others.
Voila!
You’ve gone from idea to 2500+ word articles in 10 minutes. You can export to WordPress, copy and paste the text to a document, or once you’re in the editor, you can play around with the text.
(I’ll explain the SEO settings and how you can best use them in the next section).
You can highlight a section and make it longer or shorter or rewrite it if you aren’t happy.
You can also type straight into the editor. And you can give it commands to write more in a section. Click “write” to write more wherever you’ve clicked your mouse.
There are many ways to adjust your article, but I’ll be honest: I don’t use them. I take the cruise mode articles and then make manual changes.
Content optimizer
If you’re part-way through content production, then this is what you need to get the relevance of past articles absolutely on point.
You enter an existing URL, the keyword you’d like to rank for, and your target location. For example, I have an article I never optimized about starting a niche site. The perfect candidate to see what it suggests. Here’s the report:

I LOVE that it gives a full audit of the page, sharing technical problems such as metadata, but also lets you know if you have the right content present to try and rank for the snippet.
Then, you have the ever-useful tool that gives you the key terms you should include if you want to rank. It tells you how relevant they are and how often they should appear in your article.

You can also get it to suggest FAQ questions you might want to include:

Then, you can see the competitors for the keyword so you can understand what score they have and what their word count is.

Here’s the ironic part. That article was published on medium.com and is already at position two for that keyword despite having a score of 28! But I put that down to luck and the high domain power Medium.com has.
I’ll use a content optimizer when it’s time to update older content. Relevance is essential, and ensuring Google understands precisely what your article is about is a must to rank and get traffic.
Keyword Planner

Most keyword planners work the same way: you input a base keyword, and they list out keyword ideas around that with volumes. Scalenut can do this too, with data from SEMRUSH. But they take it one step further and create Keyword Clusters.
I used this back in 2018 to rank for some very lucrative keywords. People would see a keyword like “best pillow for bad back” with a volume of 50, so they would skip it.
But if you added up all the variations – “bad back pillow, pillow for back pain, pillow to help sore back” – you’d end up with a volume of 500.
Money in the bank.
Scalenut does this for you. It creates clusters of similar keywords that you would rank for with 1 article and gives you the total volume. I’m equal parts raging at having this exposed and happy for you readers who will get access to this high-level SEO technique.
I went broad with the keyword Podcast, but already I’m seeing excellent potential keywords for my podcasting site. You can also sort by keyword difficulty and # of keywords in the cluster to find the search results you can dominate.

AI copywriter

With over 40 templates (I counted 50), I won’t go into the details of every one, but the categories are as follows:
From Scalenuts website:
- Product Description – Create compelling product descriptions
- Q&A Content – Create thought-provoking questions/answers for any topic
- Article Copywriting – For streamlining the copy requirements for your long-form needs
- Social Media Post – Create viral posts that hit the nail every time
- Copywriting (Frameworks) – Frameworks that ease the copy-creation process
- Website Copy – These cover everything, from hero text to subheaders
- Video Content – Declutter your video creation process with templates that let you automate the backend processes, such as description and script generation
- Email Copywriting – Generate crisp emails that catch users’ attention and help convert
- Advertisement Copies – Generate copy curated for specific platforms, which are highly targeted and create a lasting impact
I tried out the slogan generator, and this is what it gave me:

Awesome. I’d use “Take the Mic and Start Your Podcast Journey Today!” on my podcasting website.
After playing around with the various templates, its versatility is wide. I don’t use a ton of copywriting daily, so having this as my “copywriting assistant” will be incredibly handy.
Chrome extension
Scalenut offers a Chrome extension. It’s an “AI assistant on the go.” I installed it…
But honestly, I wasn’t that impressed. It works like Grammarly, so it pops up around text you’ve highlighted, and you can get it to write for you.
But to me, it just wasn’t that useful. I’ll keep it installed and let you know if I start using it, but I’d skip over installing the Chrome extension and just use the website for writing. But I’m an article writer, so if anyone else uses it, let me know in the comments.
Pricing

Essential – This is the basic package.
I’m not sure who would benefit from this since you can only make five articles per month. I do like a budget option, but it might be the thing where they put a cheaper alternative to make the others look good.
Growth – This is the plan everyone should have.
Thirty articles per month will supercharge any project you’re working on and boost your traffic. Plus, you can set your tone of voice, which I think is one of the most powerful features of Scalenut.
You’ll also be able to audit and optimize pages so you can update old content to include NLP keywords so you can nail the relevance and boost your rankings in Google.
Pro – Power users, This is for you.
Are you going to produce 75 unique pieces of content a month? Then is the level you need. Plus, you get access to a dedicated customer service manager to help you get the most out of Scalenut.
It’s more than I need as a one-person band, but this could be massive for agencies and large publishers.
Free Trial and Credits
Every new user is eligible for a 7-day free trial. You get two new articles, two optimized articles, and one keyword cluster report. I found it was plenty to get a feel for the program, but you’ll soon want to upgrade.
Or earn yourself free credits…
Earn Credits

Scalenut has a great system where you can earn a free six months of Growth plan subscription. You simply have to write honest reviews about the product.
This is what I did. I signed up for the free trial and then wrote a review of the product on G2 to get a free month of use.
(Ironically, my review on G2 initially got flagged for being written by AI, which it wasn’t… I updated the text, and the moderators accepted it.)
- Review on G2 – 1 month free
- Review on Capterra – 1 month free
- Review on your blog like I’ve done – 2 months free
- Review video on Youtube – 2 months free
It’s such an easy way to get free access to this incredible tool.
Scalenut Support
The support team is very responsive. I was asking questions about various features, and they always got back to me in a matter of hours, sometimes straight away. That was over a live chat. They also have email support and are happy to take questions.
You also get onboarding emails explaining the features, and you can book a 45-minute demo call to get you going when you sign up. It’s the type of support I love to see with software because it can be confusing.
My Experience and how I’m using Scalenut
I was initially unconvinced by Scalenut. I thought people had overhyped it. And when I got my first article written, I thought my suspicions were confirmed because the text seemed overwritten.
I generated an article about true crime podcast episodes, and it wrote things like this:
“However, amidst the darkness, the survivors demonstrated incredible resilience and strength, showing that even in the face of unimaginable tragedy, the human spirit can prevail.”
That frankly just seemed… Spicy. It wasn’t wrong, just a bit spicy for my desired tone. But as always, the success of AI depends on your input. I readjusted the tone and lowered the creativity setting from high to medium. The results were superb.
I will be using Scalenut to set up my next niche site. I’ve got the 30 articles a month plan, and I will publish 30 articles following a similar format over the next month.
There is no way on Earth I’d be able to write 60,000 words of content for a new site alongside other projects without Scalenut, so this is a game-changer.

How does scalenut work?
It seems to mix GPT-3 and other AI, but they don’t let on what’s behind the scenes.
Scalenut Alternatives
Frase.io is the most like-for-like alternative to Scalenut. You get an SEO-optimised content writer that can handle long-form content even though you don’t get the copywriter or the Chrome extension.
Jasper is another AI writing alternative and probably the most common choice.
Surfer SEO can only generate short-form content, but it has similar SEO tools that allow you to optimize based on NLP keywords.

No other tool can supercharge your SEO quite like it. I’m now an avid user, and you should be too, if you want to keep up in the SEO world.
